Terms of Service
Effective September 30, 2026 · Plain-language terms, no dark patterns.
Welcome to Kinboard. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Kinboard. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.
Your account
Kinboard accounts are created with a one-time email link or Google sign-in. You’re responsible for the content on your household’s board and for the people you invite. Kinboard is meant to be used by adults on behalf of their households — if children use it, a parent or guardian is responsible for that use.
Your content
You own everything you add — school emails, flyers, photos, PDFs, notes and the items created from them. To run the service, you give us a limited permission to store, process and display that content within your household, including sending it to our AI extraction provider (Google Gemini) to find dates, deadlines and people. That permission ends when your content is deleted. Only your household can see your household’s board.
Don’t add content you don’t have the right to share — forward your own family’s school emails, not someone else’s.
Acceptable use
- Don’t use Kinboard for unlawful content or to harass anyone.
- Don’t try to access other households’ boards, or break the service.
- Don’t spam the AI extraction endpoint or use Kinboard to process content on others’ behalf.
Availability and changes
Kinboard is a product in active development and is currently offered free while in beta. We work hard to keep it reliable, but we may change, pause, or discontinue features. If we ever discontinue the service itself, we’ll give you reasonable notice and a way to export your calendar before anything is deleted.
Ending things
You can leave or delete your household and delete your account at any time from Settings — deletion is immediate and permanent for the data you delete. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service or endanger other users.
Disclaimers
Kinboard is provided “as is.” While AI extraction is careful, you review suggestions before they land unless you turn on auto-add for high-confidence school emails. Kinboard can still miss or misread things — always double-check dates that matter. To the fullest extent the law allows, Kinboard isn’t liable for missed appointments, deadlines or payments, or for indirect or consequential damages. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can’t be limited.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product evolves. Material changes will be announced in the app with the new effective date before they take effect, and continuing to use Kinboard after that means you accept the update.
